BEAM Accomplishments

Involved in the struggle to desegregate students and staff in Boston Public Schools and to draft the Mass. Educational Reform Act;
Served on commissions, committees, task forces to develop local and state educational policy;
Provided college scholarships annually to students;
Organized annual conferences, forums, and workshops
Advocated strongly for fairness and equality for educators and students;
Led policy development and actions to close the achievement gap.
